Director, Consumer Insights
New York • Full Time • Posted March 26, 2026
About the Role
Rehearsals creates AI digital twins of customers so companies can ask what they want in minutes. We create AI clones from in-depth video interviews with real people so brands can use synthetic personas to see outcomes of ad creatives, product and pricing decisions with +92% accuracy before they build or spend capital. We are backed by Andreessen Horowitz, 25madison (backed by Apollo), and Factorial Fund; and angel investment from OpenAI, Google Deepmind, and Scale AI.
We are seeking a Director of Consumer Insights to serve as an expert and translator of Rehearsals' methodology for clients and prospects. Internally, you will serve as a bridge, bringing your deep knowledge of traditional research methods to bear on how Rehearsals' platform is positioned, refined, and communicated, helping the team understand what practitioners expect, how they think, and what it will take to earn their confidence. You will be part of building the predictive consumer analytics platform of the future.
The ideal candidate has spent meaningful time doing the work of consumer research: designing studies, managing fieldwork, and translating findings into recommendations that shaped real business decisions. You have done this at an agency, in-house, or both, and you have accumulated enough reps to know what good research looks like and where conventional approaches fall short. That depth is precisely what will make you effective at positioning Rehearsals' approach as a credible and meaningful evolution beyond traditional methods.
You will not be designing or executing traditional research. You will be helping clients understand, trust, and act on a fundamentally new model for consumer intelligence that is grounded in validated behavioral data and AI-driven simulation.
BONUS: You’ll really impress us if you try out our research platform and give us your feedback: https://rehearsalsresearch.com
What You Will Do
- Develop comprehensive expertise in Rehearsals' synthetic audiences methodology, including how AI replicas are constructed, validated, and deployed, and serve as a primary internal and external authority on the platform's research framework
- Lead the translation of Rehearsals' outputs for clients and stakeholders who are accustomed to traditional qualitative and quantitative methods; draw clear, credible distinctions between the two approaches without dismissing prior frameworks
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations that communicate simulation findings, strategic implications, and methodology with the precision and authority required at that level of engagement
- Develop onboarding materials, explanatory frameworks, and repeatable narratives that accelerate client comprehension and confidence in the platform
- Anticipate and directly address concerns about AI-driven research from audiences with traditional research backgrounds; reframe conventional objections with substantive, data-grounded responses
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to clients throughout the engagement lifecycle, moving fluently between insights delivery, methodology explanation, and business recommendation
- Partner with product and technical teams to ensure that platform outputs are communicated in terms that resonate with non-technical stakeholders and drive confident decision-making
- Surface patterns across client engagements that inform product improvements, new use cases, and methodology refinements
- Contribute to Rehearsals' external thought leadership, helping to establish the company's voice on the future of consumer research and the role of AI simulation in strategic decision-making
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- 5+ years hands-on experience in consumer research designing quantitative and qualitative studies, managing research programs end-to-end, and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders

- Experience working with or within recognized consumer brands, insights-driven organizations, or research consultancies where the standard for rigor and strategic relevance was high
- A background in management consulting is not required, but candidates who have it will find that the structured thinking, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills transfer directly to this role
- Demonstrated history of presenting to and advising senior leadership audiences; comfort translating complex research into language that drives decisions at the executive level
Skills and Attributes
- Actively engaged with AI tools in a professional context; intellectually curious about their implications for research methodology, consumer understanding, and strategic decision-making
- Capable of systems-level thinking and able to connect discrete research outputs to broader business questions and organizational decisions
