Accidentally Blocked Camera Access?
If you see “Camera is missing” in your interview, you likely denied camera access when your browser asked for permission. Browsers won’t ask again once you’ve denied — you need to manually enable it in settings.
Good news: Camera is optional! You can tap “Keep my camera off” and complete an audio-only interview. But if you want to enable video, follow the steps below.

iPhone / iPad (Safari)
Open the Settings app
Go to your iPhone/iPad home screen and tap Settings (the gear icon).
Scroll down and tap Safari
Scroll down the settings list until you find Safari and tap it.
Tap Camera under 'Settings for Websites'
Scroll down to find Settings for Websites section, then tap Camera .
Change to 'Ask' or 'Allow'
Select Ask (to be prompted each time) or Allow (to always allow).
Go back to Safari and refresh the interview page
Return to Safari and pull down on the page to refresh it. You should now be able to enable your camera.
Still not working? Try closing Safari completely (swipe up from the bottom, then swipe Safari away) and reopening the interview link.
Android (Chrome)
In Chrome, tap the lock icon in the address bar
Look at the top of your screen where the website address is. Tap the lock icon (or info icon) on the left side.
Tap 'Permissions'
In the menu that appears, tap Permissions .
Find Camera and tap 'Reset' or change to 'Allow'
Look for Camera in the list. Tap it and select Allow , or tap Reset to be prompted again.
Refresh the page
Tap the reload button or pull down to refresh the page. The camera permission should now work.
Alternative: Chrome App Settings
If the above doesn’t work:
Long-press the Chrome app icon
On your home screen, press and hold the Chrome icon until a menu appears.
Tap 'App info'
Select App info (or the ⓘ icon).
Tap Permissions → Camera
Tap Permissions , then tap Camera .
Select 'Allow' or 'Allow only while using the app'
Choose one of the allow options. Then go back to Chrome and refresh the interview page.
Mac (Safari)
Click Safari in the menu bar → Settings
With Safari open, click Safari in the top menu bar, then click Settings (or Preferences on older macOS).
Click the Websites tab
In the Settings window, click the Websites tab at the top.
Select Camera in the left sidebar
On the left side, scroll down and click Camera .
Find the Rehearsals website and change to 'Allow'
Look for the Rehearsals website in the list on the right. Click the dropdown next to it and select Allow . If you don’t see it listed, change the dropdown at the bottom that says “When visiting other websites” to Ask or Allow .
Refresh the interview page
Go back to the interview tab and refresh the page (Command + R).

Safari also needs system-level permission on Mac:
Open System Settings (or System Preferences)
Click the Apple menu → System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS).
Go to Privacy & Security → Camera
Click Privacy & Security in the sidebar, then click Camera .
Make sure Safari is checked
Find Safari in the list and make sure the toggle is ON (or checkbox is checked).
Restart Safari
Quit Safari completely (Command + Q) and reopen it, then go back to the interview.
Mac (Chrome)
Click the lock icon in Chrome's address bar
Look at the left side of the address bar where you see the website URL. Click the lock icon (or tune icon).
Click 'Site settings'
In the dropdown that appears, click Site settings .
Find Camera and change to 'Allow'
Scroll down to find Camera . Click the dropdown and select Allow .
Close the tab and refresh
Close the settings tab, go back to the interview, and refresh the page.

Chrome also needs system-level permission on Mac:
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera
Apple menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera .
Make sure Google Chrome is checked
Find Google Chrome in the list and ensure it’s toggled ON .
Restart Chrome
Quit Chrome completely and reopen it.
Windows (Chrome)
Click the lock icon in the address bar
On the left side of Chrome’s address bar, click the lock icon (or tune/info icon).
Click 'Site settings'
Click Site settings in the menu that appears.
Change Camera to 'Allow'
Find Camera in the list and change it from “Block” to Allow .
Close and refresh
Close the settings tab, return to the interview, and refresh the page.

Windows also has system-level camera permissions:
Open Windows Settings
Press Windows key + I to open Settings, or click Start → Settings.
Go to Privacy → Camera
Click Privacy (or Privacy & security ), then click Camera .
Make sure camera access is ON
Ensure these are all turned ON :
“Camera access” (or “Allow apps to access your camera”)
“Allow desktop apps to access your camera”
Restart Chrome
Close Chrome completely and reopen it.
Don’t Want to Use Camera?
That’s totally fine! Camera is optional . To proceed without video:
On the camera setup step, tap “Keep my camera off”
Confirm your choice in the dialog
Continue with an audio-only interview
Your video helps verify your identity for faster payouts, but the interview works just as well without it.
Still Not Working?
I followed the steps but still see 'Camera is missing'
Try these additional steps:
Restart your browser — Close it completely and reopen
Close other apps using the camera — Zoom, FaceTime, Teams, etc.
Check for a physical camera cover — Some laptops have privacy shutters
Restart your device — Sometimes permissions need a restart
My camera shows a black screen
This usually means another app is using the camera:
Close Zoom, FaceTime, Teams, Google Meet , or any video apps
Close and reopen your browser
Try refreshing the interview page
I'm on a work computer with restrictions
Corporate devices often have camera access locked down. Try:
Use your personal phone — Open the interview link on your own device
Continue without camera — Tap “Keep my camera off” for audio-only
Skip the Camera Remember: Camera is optional! If you’re having trouble, just tap “Keep my camera off” to continue with audio only.
