# Interview Experience

> Everything you need to know about participating in a Rehearsals interview

## Welcome to Your Interview

You've been invited to participate in a Rehearsals interview — a short, AI-powered conversation that helps companies understand their customers better. Here's what to expect.

## How It Works

    An AI interviewer will ask you questions. Just speak naturally — there are no right or wrong answers.

    After completing the interview, you'll receive your reward via the method specified in your invitation.

## Device Requirements

    WiFi or cellular data both work.

## Supported Browsers

    Works on Mac, iPhone, and iPad

<Warning>
  **Only Chrome and Safari are supported.** Other browsers (Firefox, Edge, etc.) may not work correctly.

  **In-app browsers** (like those in Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook) often have limited microphone access. If you're having trouble, tap the menu icon (⋮ or ⋯) and select "Open in Safari" or "Open in Chrome".

## The Green Room

Before your interview begins, you'll go through a quick device setup called the "green room". This ensures everything works properly.

### Step 1: Microphone Test

    2. Tap again and say **"Testing 123"** when prompted
    3. The system will detect your voice level and confirm it's working
    4. You'll see a thumbs up and "Your microphone works!" when successful

  <Accordion title="What if I see 'We had trouble hearing you'?">
    This means your voice level was too quiet. Try:

    * Speaking louder or moving closer to your microphone
    * Checking that the correct microphone is selected in the dropdown
    * Making sure nothing is blocking or muting your mic
    * Tap to try the test again

    This means there's significant ambient noise. Try:

    * Moving to a quieter location
    * Closing windows or turning off fans/AC
    * Using headphones with a built-in microphone
    * Tap to test again after reducing noise

    You can still proceed with the interview, but audio quality may be affected.

### Step 2: Speaker Test

    2. A short audio clip will play through your speakers
    3. You'll be asked **"Can you hear the test sound at a normal volume?"**
    4. Tap the ✓ checkmark if you heard it, or ✗ if you didn't

    If you tap ✗ (no), you'll see "TURN UP YOUR VOLUME AND CLICK HERE TO TEST AGAIN". Try:

    * Make sure your device isn't muted
    * Turn up your volume
    * Try using headphones instead of speakers
    * On mobile, check that your media volume is on (not just ringer)
    * Tap the circle to play the test sound again

### Step 3: Camera Setup (Optional)

    No, the camera is **optional**. However, using your camera helps verify your identity and may enable faster reward payouts.

    Your video is:

    * Used only to verify you're a real person
    * Not shared with other companies
    * Not reviewed by humans — only AI verification

    Tap "Keep my camera off" at the bottom of the screen. You'll see a confirmation dialog explaining how video is used, then you can proceed with an audio-only interview.

## During the Interview

  **Relax and be yourself!** The AI interviewer is designed to have a natural conversation. There are no right or wrong answers — we just want to hear your honest thoughts and experiences.

<Warning>
  **Quality matters.** While there are no "wrong" answers, we reserve the right to reject interviews that contain poor or unsubstantiated responses. One-word answers are not helpful for our research — please share your genuine thoughts and explain your reasoning when asked.

### Tips for a Great Interview

    Background noise can make it harder for the AI to understand you. A quiet room helps ensure a smooth conversation.

    You don't need to wait for beeps or prompts. Just speak when the AI is done talking, like a normal conversation.

    It's okay to pause and think before answering. The AI will wait patiently for your response.

    There are no right answers. Share your genuine thoughts and experiences — that's what we're looking for.

## After the Interview

Once you complete the interview:

1. **You'll see a confirmation screen** thanking you for your time
2. **Your reward will be processed** according to the method specified in your invitation (e.g., gift card, PayPal, Venmo)
3. **Reward timing** varies but is typically within 24-48 hours
